"Knowing others is wisdom; knowing the self is enlightenment." - Lao Tzu

In this module you use dreams and painting to open and explore the world of symbology, unlocking it's energy as experienced through yourself and your partner - a fundamental step toward psychic Reading.

I don't know how many practitioners of psychic palm reading there are in the world. But I'm quite sure that each has their own way of doing it. And I'm all for that. We each have our own way of tuning in. I discovered my approach gradually . It's a method which 'just sort of happened' to me over the years. Later I began teaching it, by breaking down my experience into small steps, which I turned into exercises.

In the exercises, you can go through the steps one by one, simply enjoying each one for its own sake (not worrying about what you're supposed to be able to do at the end!!!) Each exercise opens a door into some broader space of yourself. They are powerful, often moving, and might change your life. They're very personal. Each step is, in its own way, a meditation.

At the end you'll find that you can do this strange thing called psychic palm reading.

Which is simply a way to tune in to another person while you are resting in yourself. It is heart-softening, exalting, sweet, very sober, sometimes completely drunk, intensely moving. It's you. It's the other. Sitting together in a cocoon of awareness and light, wherein things are revealed.

This kind of immediate, present Reading is much more interesting - to me - than a reading based on an intellectual, visual analysis of the lines alone. Instead of talking about the future, while your mind - once again - projects itself over imagined distance to a time which doesn't exist, a 'reading' brings us smack dab into the present - with all its layers, going deeper and deeper into the Now. And yes, revealing what is to be born, because the depth keeps on rising....

In a psychic palm reading, you'll sit opposite your partner with their hands on a plump pillow, your hands sensing, feeling, and receiving their energies in both general and very specific ways. You'll look at the lines, and feel them too. And the mounts, and the fingers. Each has a voice; each has several layers, going deeper and deeper, to the mysterious treasure of being which every person carries.

You'll be able to examine in depth and detail any question the other brings - whether it has to do with work, relationship, creativity, health, or the spiritual search.

If you decide to pass through this doorway, opening to the psychic abilities we all have, you'll need a partner for the course. Choose a friend you feel comfortable with, rather than your love partner, if possible. (With a love partner there's a special dynamic that can make this process more difficult. You're too interested in each other, in your relationship; often, in protecting deep feelings - to complicate it by bringing in this delicate new exploration, which has so much of stepping outside ourselves. This will not be so very easy with a love-partner.)

Choose a friend or acquaintance who can free up the 1 or 1 1/2 hours you'll need to go through each module. Choose someone with whom you can 'let down you hair'. (Don't worry about that let-go ahead of time - it'll happen.)

Remember - approach each module just for itself. Don't worry about the goal! Just enjoy the module you're in. It will all come together by itself at the end. Which will then be a beginning, as you go on practicing and exploring.

And enjoy! Don't make this a serious thing. (Aren't there are enough serious things in our lives?) Let this be a magical, fun, playful time for you. Going into something unknown, where the old knowledge doesn't function. And just see what happens.

And remember - at each step, your experience, as it is, is valid. It's not that you're 'supposed to be' feeling or experiencing a certain thing. Just the way it is, is right.

Have fun!

Materials you will need for the course:

1 small notebook and pen

Painting paper, medium and large sizes - about 2 pieces of each

Water-colours or pastels or both

A watch or clock

Music tapes which you enjoy: classical, soothing, heartful, and some great dancing music

Tibetan bells or other sounding gong (or even a glass and spoon)

Also, you'll need to keep a dream Journal. Start writing dreams in your notebook before you begin the exercises, so that when you start you have several written down. If you don't remember your dreams, don't worry! Write down a daydream, or even a dream you had months or years ago. (They all come from the same factory.)

When you've written down several dreams you are ready to begin the first Exercise, Painting and Entering Dreams.

When you've completed the exercise, refer to the Reflections, and write your responses in your notebook.
