Osho: His Vision and His Work

Video: Osho – His Vision and His Work

While Surfing the Net...

The other day, while surfing the net, I came across some interesting information:

- Now that Google Video is a big hit on the web we have access to a beautiful interview with the author, Tom Robbins, in which he talks about Osho in a documentary film by Insearch Video called Meditation: The Art of Ecstasy.

"One of the things that first caused me to have interest in him was the fact that he was so soundly and roundly rejected and attacked by both the left and the right, by both the unthinking masses and educated, liberal intellectuals. And when someone‘ s ideas are that universally attacked, can arouse that much hostility, that was a signal to me that there must be something there worth paying attention to..."

- A look into the past with the video Rise and Fall of Rajneeshpuram from The School of Journalism and Communication, University of Oregon.

- The organizer of the Osho Film Festivals, held in Europe and USA, has also started a project where he captures interviews on video of people who have known Osho personally. Manik calls the project O-Shoah (Shoah is the Project initiated by Steven Spielberg who, after completing the movie Schindler‘ s List, realized that not many survivors of the concentration camps are still around to tell the story). Manik thinks that in giving testimony to a man like Osho, he should have the same attention, if not more. You can contact Manik at: manik@swami.de - www.swami.de

- A news article in the Hindu Business Line entitled Repose in Maroon by Gagandeep Kaur (11 Jan 2007) on the Osho International Meditation Resort.

- The video Osho: His Vision and His Work (27 min) about the first ashram in Pune is followed by a talk by Osho, Inner Light from the series on The Dhammapada (The Book of The Books), Vol 6, 1980.

- Another video which can be watched - with broadband as it is 48 min long - is Bhagwan, The Movie, a film document made by Robert Hillmann in December 1975. The film can also be bought on DVD (with German subtitles) from Osho Anubhuti OMC. You can contact them at: OshoAnubhutiMC@arcor.de

- The video Osho, The Rising Moon (33 min) can be watched also on video.google.com. These are unique recordings of Osho‘ s earliest phase starting with the famous Meditation Camps in Mount Abu, continuing through his stay in the Bombay apartment and ending with the early days of the Ashram in Poona.

Trendmap for Osho

- Trendmapper has spotted that searches on the net for the word "Osho" varies between 3 and 4 million per day, with peaks of up to 5 million. This map is from last summer, but hopefully the project will continue and we will have more recent data soon.
