In May there will be two music events in Devon. On May 12th the group Presence will be performing "Songs of Sea and Sky" at the St Lawrence Chapel in Ashburton Devon.
Surabhi writes that this is a beautiful space in which to play music, so they thought to do this programme which they have not done for a while. It will be a very oceanic and atmospheric concert depicting the wild magic of the west coast of Britain but especially the western isles of Scotland and the Hebrides with their haunting poetic beauty. For details see: presence.org.uk.
On May 19th One Hand Clapping (the Croydon Hall festival band) will be doing a gig at Rattery Village Hall (about 4 miles from Totnes). This event is not to be missed if you like to dance and/or enjoy some really good upbeat music.
And for those of you not yet familiar with the band One Hand Clapping here are some details. There are six members in the band: Adarsha (who also plays in Presence) on electric guitar, Prabodh on bass and flute, Vikas, the amazing keyboard player, Surabhi and Tarisha (from Osho Leela, who also plays guitar and flute) on vocals and last but not least, Manu, who sits behind his drum kit and shines like the sun while he plays!
Whenever they come together to play it is always a huge celebration which they would love to share with you all.
