We have just heard from Pankaja that Dr Prabhavati Dwabha is again visiting the UK this month. Sannyasins will remember her as the vibrant Dwabha of Performing Arts fame in Poona 2. Fifteen years ago she started an orphanage which she called ‘Ramana’s Garden’ in Garwhal in the foothills of the Himalaya’s. Only a short time ago in this majestically beautiful area, 75% of all village children were illiterate and malnourished, the infant mortality rate was the highest and the women’s literacy rate the lowest in India. Now, thanks to the efforts of a few dedicated people like Dwabha, things are beginning to change.
Pankaja is just finishing ‘ghost-writing‘ a book on Dwabha’s life. Directors in Hollywood have shown interest in making a film of her life (she was a well-known actress in California in her pre-sannyas days) but there is a bit of a hold up at the moment because the directors don’t want to include Osho in the story and Dwabha is adamant that they should!
Dwabha will be in London on Sunday May 13th and everyone is invited to come and talk to her during an evening event at 6:30pm at the beautiful Jiva Mukti Yoga Centre, Units 136-137, 300 Kensal Road, London W10 5BE. (nearest tube station is Westbourne Grove).
For more information on Ramana’s Garden (people are welcome to go and stay there for a while) see: www.sayyesnow.org or just just type in ‘Ramana’s Garden’ in Google and find a number of websites related to the project created by supporters and interested people. The above event is also advertised on www.jivamuktiyoga.co.uk
