Osho

Colours of the Rainbow

Osho gives to a sannyasin a name for a new center during a one-to-one interview (darshan).

I will give you a name for whenever you go. The name: indiradhan. It means the rainbow. Dhan means bow and indira in Indian mythology is the God of clouds, rain, thunder, light-ning. So the rainbow is his bow, Indira's bow.

And I give it this name - indiradhan - because it will be very very representative of my attitude towards life. I accept all colours. I am not in any way negative towards anything. This is a totally positive approach. From the lowest to the highest rung - everything has to be accepted and enjoyed and man has to become a meeting of heaven and earth. A rainbow is a meeting of heaven and earth - a bridge, and with all the colours.

Religion has become very colourless in the past. It has lost dance, song, poetry. It became just dry, dead theology. Life has to be infused into it again, so it must be life-affirmative. It must not be life-negative and anti-life. It must affirm and enhance life in every way. It must be creative. It should not call anything 'sin'. Yes, errors there are. Errors, yes, mistakes, yes, failures, yes - but there is no sin.

There are people who miss heaven, but there is no hell. At the most you can miss heaven, that's all. That's enough punishment. What more is needed?

Holographic Transomatic Mandala Self-Healing Intensive Yatro writes about her Osho Greek Odyssey after participating in a week-long workshop called Holographic Transomatic Mandala Self-Healing Intensive on the Island of Aegina. Devageet, who was Osho's dentist for many years and who has created this process, ran the course. Read the article...

Mutribo We hear from Bhagawati that Mutribo – who studied languages and film making in London but who we best know as the most unobtrusive cameraman of Osho's discourses – organises, from the top of the world, three incredible journeys for 2009: one to Tibet and two to Bhutan. Check out his website to book your space – or just to enjoy the awesome views: www.mutribo.com.

niten In another email, Bhagawati sends us a Letter by Niten who recently visited the Ranch in Oregon, where many of us lived as part of Osho's commune in the years between 1981 and 1986. His vivid writing compells us to pass it on to you – a lesson in how to live in the present while remembering the past. More....

Penzance I you live at one end of this beautiful, but cold island, somewhere close to Penzance, do not miss the Osho Active Meditations Day on 16th November (Sun). Archa and Sans invite everybody to participate! Details...

London Meditation article For the November issue of Woman & Home, Susann Herrmann of London Meditation was interviewed by health writer Anna Magee for her article 7 drug-free ways to beat depression. One of the seven tips is meditation, "mindfulness" meditation - a non-religious technique that simply focuses on the breath and the moment. You can read the article in this PDF file, which Susann kindly sent to us, read it here on-line or in the magazine under the column 'Alternative Health'.

The Tiny Meditation: Alert to the Third Eye

It is only a matter of fixing one's thinking on the point which lies exactly between the two eyes. Then all is well. The light is something extremely mobile. When one fixes the thought on the mid-point between the two eyes, the light streams in of its own accord."Remember, not concentrating but just remaining alert, just a slight alertness. Look at the tip of the nose and remain slightly alert to the third eye. In fact, the moment you look at the tip of the nose you will become alert to the third eye, because that is the other pole of the nose. One pole, the outer pole, is the tip, the end; the other end of the nose is joined with the third eye. The moment you become aware of the tip you will suddenly become aware of the other end too. But just remain aware, effortlessly aware. You need not be worried. Just open the window and wait. Light is such a moving phenomenon that if the window is open it is going to move in. In fact, it has been knocking on the window for many many lives, but the window has not opened and it cannot force it open.
